Sustainability

A sustainable company.

A sustainable company. "Meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Since its foundation, Rossella has always had Sustainable targets. FSC® and PEFC certifications Rossella strongly believes in respecting the environment; for this reason she decided to adopt a sustainable and responsible forest management, with relevant FSC®  (Forest Stewardship Council) certification in 2014, and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) certification in 2018. Production - Coating Technologies - Solventless Silicones: Since the beginning, Rossella has believed in and developed silicone supports using solvent-less silicone blends. To date, 98% of the productions carried out follow this technology. This choice has rewarded and still rewards the sustainability of the product supplied to our customers! To confirm the interest in sustainability and new markets, Rossella has recently equipped its new-generation plant with a coating head designed to use water-based silicones. This preemptive investment was made to be leveraged for new future challenges that will increasingly require less environmental impact. Production - Printing Technologies - Water Based Inks: All flexographic prints of silicone substrates made in Rossella's printing department have been using only water-based inks for years. The approach is another point in favor of the sustainability of the product produced. Wastewater - Environmental Impact Reduction Technologies: In order to minimize the environmental impact resulting from production waste, Rossella, for the printing department, has equipped itself with an evaporator for the treatment of washing water coming from the department. Water runoff - Stormwater dispersion: Rossella plants have been retrofitted with new systems to disperse rainwater deep into the company's soil and not into the sewer system. Solid Waste - Silicone Paper Recycling: Since 2018, Rossella joined the silicone paper recycling project. Removing the silicone applied to the paper substrates, allows the paper to be fed back into the production process, thus creating circularity in production. This system has allowed and allows the reduction of the material's disposal in landfills with a consequent lower environmental impact. Electricity Rossella shows its respect for the environment also through the use of electricity formed from primary sources, including renewable sources and natural gas.
